Drug-Free Workplace Testing Policy

In March of 2003 Mansfield Cement adopted a new drug-free policy for the workplace. It went into effect the last day of March and has been in place since. As part of the Company's employment procedures, all applicants will be required to undergo a post-offer, pre-employment drug test conducted by a contractor the Company designates. Random drug testing will include all employees and is conducted on an unannounced, random basis.

Weekly "Tool Box" Talks

Weekly "tool box talks" are required on most projects we work on throughout the year. Every week 10 - 20 minute meetings on site-specific topics are discussed by either the Company's foreman or the project supervisor. Any and all unsafe practices on the site are brought to the employee's attention, along with specific details on corrective measures.

Safety Training and Compliance

Mansfield Cement requires all employees to attend a 10 hour OSHAA safety class. They may also be required to attend an annual 8 hour safety refresher. The class is scheduled by the Company and is taught by a professional safety consultant and a drug and alcohol counselor.

All employees are trained on the company's safety policies and jobsite procedures. Employees are trained to know their responsibilities as a safe worker while on the job. They are trained on hazardous communication policies, to be aware of hazardous materials and to make sure they are clearly marked with appropriate labels. In addition, they are trained to know where the MSDS (material safety data sheets) for all materials that may be on a jobsite are located. Employees are trained on PPE (personal protective equipment), and when and how they should be worn. They are also trained on Lockout/Tagout procedures, machine guarding, confined space procedures, blood borne pathogen policies, fall protection and forklift safety along with other important company policies.
